DarkRoom – What Happens Next

What Happens Next

Once we have received your application, we will move into the assessment of your project. Key dates are as follows:

  • Wednesday 26th June Applications open
  • Wednesday 24th July at 5pm Applications close
  • August Assessment takes place
  • Early September we will let you know the outcome

Your project will be initially assessed by at least two people in our team of assessors. This is a mix of Trans+ On Screen staff and external readers.

Once a shortlist has been created, the candidates will be invited to a conversation (via zoom) with the Trans+ On Screen team to ensure they are ready and committed to the lab.

The applications will then be sent to our Jury to make their decisions. The Jury will be made up of senior creatives and industry figures from the LGBTQ+ community.

Once the Jury have made their final decision, the 10 selected writers will then be sent all information and contracts for accepting their place on the lab.

All information submitted as part of an application will be treated with confidentiality. All judges will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and are prohibited from disclosing application information with any third parties. By submitting your application you agree to allow our jury members to review your application.
